On Saturday, October 6th, 2018, We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym celebrated its second location in Malaysia, and fourth international location, We Rock the Spectrum – Melawati Mall! Yusliana Samsuri and Nazrishah Nordin are the amazing owners of We Rock the Spectrum – Melawati Mall. They credit their son, Rafa, for introducing them into the special needs community. As loving as Rafa is, Yusliana has also seen the challenges that come with special needs children, as he struggles in social settings when interacting with other kiddos. On Saturday, September 1st, 2018, the We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym franchise celebrated a new SoCal gym location, and the first of the Pomona Valley area, We Rock the Spectrum – Pomona! Katie Haines is the owner of We Rock the Spectrum – Pomona. Katie and her husband, Ted, have two children together, Malia and Xavier. They have credited their son, Xavier, as being their introduction to We Rock the Spectrum, as they were frequent visitors of several locations across Southern California. After their first visit, they were amazed to see Xavier playing with another child, who did not have special needs. The We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym Franchise has 11 active gyms in Southern California, and welcomed a new gym in Northern California – an extra special location as it was opened in the CEO and Founder, Dina Kimmel’s, hometown of Placerville, California! We Rock the Spectrum – Placerville, which celebrated its grand opening on Saturday, July 28th, 2018, is run by Keri McAtee, who also happens to be a childhood friend of Dina Kimmel. Keri and her husband, Patrick, are high school sweethearts who have been married for 31 years! Their main inspiration for opening a We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym was one of their foster children, Samuel, who they ended up adopting as their own. Abandoned at birth, Samuel had a stroke in-utero, was deaf and blind, and showed severe brain damage on his MRI. Keri recalls it being love at first sight with Samuel!  At the age of four, Samuel’s life was cut short as he became very ill and passed …

On Saturday, July 28th, 2018, the We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym Franchise celebrated the grand opening of its second Washington location, We Rock the Spectrum – Federal Way. Colin joined the We Rock the Spectrum family in July 2017, and fast forward one year later, We Rock the Spectrum – Federal Way has become a reality! The celebration was an exciting day for all of the families across King County. Colin Hirsch is the gym owner of We Rock the Spectrum – Federal Way, a 3rd – 5th grade Special Education teacher. Colin graduated from Evergreen State College with a Bachelor’s in Education, and also has a Master’s in Teaching and has training in Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy. During his Master’s Program, one of Colin’s most cherished memories was when worked as a Paraeducator with high school students. He conducted a case study focusing on helping non-verbal students on the autism spectrum with their speech therapy through speech-generating devices. The students used iPads and …

The We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym Franchise has officially expanded to Ocean County, NJ! This past Saturday, July 14th, 2018, We Rock the Spectrum – Waretown opened their doors to the southern Ocean County community. The new gym owners, Mary Topoleski and Jeff Kachuba, have a 3 ½ year old son named Nicholas, who was diagnosed with ASD at the age of 2. Mary is a stay-at-home mom, and always struggled to find places to take Nicholas where he could be not only be himself, but also learn and grow. She was ecstatic to learn about We Rock the Spectrum – Mount Laurel, and after her first visit there, she immediately picked up the phone to contact Corporate about bringing her own gym to her community! On Saturday, May 5th, 2018, also commonly recognized as Cinco de Mayo, We Rock the Spectrum – Audubon celebrated their grand opening! The gym owner, Christina “Pip” Carty, is no stranger to the autism and special needs community. With her background working with Autism Speaks, she felt grateful that she was prepared when her seven-year-old son, Julian, was diagnosed with SPD just before his fourth birthday. After taking him to a local We Rock gym, and striking up a conversation with a fellow autism mom, sharing hopeful stories she learned through her work with Autism Speaks, Pip knew she wanted to continue sharing her resources and experiences at her own We Rock gym. The We Rock the Spectrum franchise expanded to another town in Missouri! On Saturday, March 24th, 2018, We Rock the Spectrum – North County STL opened its doors to their community. Single mom and proud new owner, Celeste “C.C.” Brown, began her journey with autism after adopting her son, Chance. In April 2016, Chance was diagnosed with ASD, which led C.C. to search for all the possible resources, workshops and therapies in order to enhance her son’s development. Aside from therapy, C.C. noticed the need for Chance to have social interactions with others, as trips to the park, and even birthday parties, were anything but typical for him. That was when C.C. discovered the We Rock the Spectrum – Fenton location, and where she went and became a member to. Seeing the growth in Chance’s processing and social skills prompted C.C. to look into bringing her own We Rock the Spectrum gym to share with her North County St. Louis community. The We Rock the Spectrum franchise expanded to Northern Virginia on Saturday, February 24th, 2018, as they celebrated the grand opening of We Rock the Spectrum – Loudoun. Anjali and Manish Gulati, the owners of the brand new gym, have two children together – a 5-year-old daughter and a 13-year-old son. Their journey with autism began when their son was diagnosed with ADHD, ASD and SPD in early elementary school. As he grew older, Anjali made it her mission to find places where he would not only feel safe, but also gain the strength and coordination he needed to reach his full potential. After not having much luck finding such a place, Anjali felt it was fate as she stumbled upon the We Rock the Spectrum brand. She knew how much the Northern Virginia area was in need of a facility like this, so she was beyond excited to be able to bring this unique opportunity to her community.
