We Rock the Spectrum – Sugar Land Grand Opening

We Rock the Spectrum – Sugar Land brought us our first spectacular grand opening of the year! Margaret and Edmond Lee are the proud new owners of the gym. The Lee’s have two children, Madeline and Jaxson, who have been a great inspiration and joy for their family. Their special needs journey began when their daughter Madeline, was diagnosed with Autism at 2 years old.  One day as Margaret was chaperoning a field trip for her daughter’s school to a We Rock the Spectrum nearby, she saw how amazing and impactful a We Rock the Spectrum gym could be. She wondered how she could bring one to her community because she knew how difficult it can be for a children on the spectrum to navigate through things like a playground when they don’t fit into someone’s vision of how children are “supposed to be.” Margaret found out exactly what she had to do and on January 13th, 2018 she and her husband opened their doors …

We Rock the Spectrum – Dubai Grand Opening

2017 ended on a great note for the We Rock the Spectrum franchise! On Saturday, December 9th, 2017, the sensory kids gym expanded to its second international location, We Rock the Spectrum – Dubai. The new owner is Dr. Nashila Jaffer, and it was on a vacation to Florida that led her on the path to bring her own We Rock the Spectrum gym to the Dubai community. Dr. Jaffer stumbled upon We Rock the Spectrum – Boca Raton, and after taking her two daughters there to put it to the test, she saw how much they enjoyed it and immediately knew Dubai would benefit tremendously from it. Soon after, she joined the We Rock the Spectrum family in June of 2017 and the rest is history!                                             The grand opening celebration was a fun-filled day with some of the Corporate team and our …

We Rock the Spectrum – San Jose Grand Opening

We Rock the Spectrum San Jose’s journey started this past Saturday, December 2nd! They had a wonderful Grand Opening with tons of support from their family, friends, and community! San Jose hit a lot of roadblocks that prevented them from opening sooner but we are amazed by their perseverance to push through countless obstacles. San Jose is ran by Cara and Lance Zimmerman who are also parents to five wonderful children! Cara and Lance come from the very fast paced industries of tech and finance. After the premature arrival of their twins Evie and Audrey, it became apparent that Cara needed to leave her position and dedicate herself full time towards raising their children, specifically managing all of the programs and therapists their HFASD diagnosed daughter, Evie, required. In time it also became apparent that there was a need for a place where people understood their needs. With a little bit of research, they stumbled upon We Rock the Spectrum and realized their community would …

We Rock the Spectrum – Lake Charles Grand Opening

The proud owners of Lake Charles are Katy and Jason Miller. Katy and Jason have two beautiful children, Griffin and Nora! Both Children looked beyond happy with their parents’ new gym! Jason had a career in the oil and gas industry prior to moving back to Lake Charles from Texas after the birth of Griffin in 2014. Katy was then hired by The Diocese of Lake Charles to create the Progressions Program at The Immaculate Conception Cathedral School. After two years of getting the program up and running, she was able to go back to where it all started in Calcasieu Parish: St. John Elementary. Through teaching across different settings and environments, Katy realized no matter what abilities each student had, they all shared a common need; sensory input. When working for The Diocese of Lake Charles, Katy saw a huge need for inclusion of all children as well as a better understanding of our kiddos that are on the spectrum. This led her to …

John and Brandi Boyd have 3 sons, Xavier, Adam, and Ethan. Xavier was diagnosed with autism and has speech delays, sensory processing issues, and social challenges. The Boyd’s found it challenging to find places where all three boys could play together without judgment and/or overstimulation. When the Boyd’s were planning a trip to Houston, Texas they also looked into autism resources in the area. They stumbled upon We Rock the Spectrum – Katy and realized this was something they needed to bring to New Orleans. Opening day proved New Orleans was ready for a We Rock the Spectrum location as many families …

Thank You for Attending the Rockin’ Resource Fair!

Fair attendees were also treated to delicious food from Dogtown Dogs, Matt’s Coffee Express, the Grilled Cheese Truck, and more. And to keep the crowds singing and dancing all day long, the Conductors and Orlando Boom from Orlando Boom’s Drum Circle kept it rockin’. Needless to say, every single one of these organizations ROCK. Holding our entire fair together were our awesome volunteers who greeted guests, assisted the kids on the sensory equipment, and connected parents with the valuable resources that they needed. Most importantly, we wanted to show our appreciation for you, We Rockers, for coming …
