On June 26, 2021, We Rock the Spectrum – North San Antonio opened its doors to its community! We Rock the Spectrum – North San Antonio is now offering Open Play, private play sessions, and respite care to children of ALL abilities and their families to get the sensory play they need.

Art and Melinda Garcia are the new owners of We Rock the Spectrum – North San Antonio. Art is a certified teacher in special education who taught students with special needs of all ages. Melinda is an accounting supervisor. In Art’s 13 years in special education, he takes pride in watching his students grow up, knowing he played a part in their development. As a teacher, Art continuously looks for opportunities for his students to engage and grow. When Art and Melinda stumbled upon the We Rock the Spectrum franchise, they immediately knew they had to be a part of its mission. It was exactly what Art had been looking for – a space where children of all abilities could play and develop in a safe environment. After some discussion, they decided to leave teaching to open their very own We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym. Despite delays in opening due to the COVID-19 pandemic and a baby on the way, Art and Melinda have persevered and are thrilled to be opening this new location to provide essential services to North San Antonio families in need.

“There is nothing more satisfying than hearing a parent state that we have made a difference in their child’s life,” said Art. “It is this sentiment that drives us to want to reach more families and make a difference in their lives.” They look forward to providing their North San Antonio community with a place that belongs to children and their families. 

We Rock the Spectrum – North San Antonio has already seen great outcomes with bookings in just their first week of opening. Throughout their Grand Opening day, families and their children had the chance to enjoy the newly opened sensory facility, its 12 pieces of sensory equipment, sensory-based toys, an arts and crafts area, and enjoyed delicious food donated by local vendors. We Rock the Spectrum – North San Antonio offers inclusive Open Play Sessions, Private Facility Rentals, Respite Care, Group Therapy, and Excursions, all in a ROCKIN’ sensory-safe play venue.

The We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym franchise would like to thank the North San Antonio community for showing abundant support to our new franchise owners.
