We Rock the Spectrum – Wollongong Now Open!

March 24, 2021 | In: Events

On March 20th, We Rock the Spectrum – Wollongong, opened its doors to the Wollongong community, offering private sessions, low capacity Open Play, and respite care!

Hellen and Shane Walton are the new owners of We Rock the Spectrum – Wollongong. They are parents to an awesome 6-year-old, Ethan. When Ethan was 2 years old, he was diagnosed with level 2 ASD and GDD. They made the conscious decision to dedicate their lives to Ethan’s ongoing development and prosperity. After struggling for so many years to find inclusive and sensory-safe social and play opportunities for their family, Hellen and Shane are excited to open a safe and nurturing place where children of all abilities can come to play and grow developmentally and socially.

Throughout the day, NDIS participating families had the chance to enjoy the new sensory facility and all its equipment. From the swings to the fan-favorite zip line, children were given the space and opportunity to run, jump, climb, slide, swing, rest, and have fun! We Rock the Spectrum – Wollongong offers inclusive Open Play Sessions for the whole community, Private Facility Hire, Respite Services, Group Therapy, Excursions, all in an amazing sensory-safe play venue.

Greg Ellis of the Illawarra Mercury stopped by to get a glimpse of all the excitement and find out more about all this brand new sensory facility has to offer the Wollongong community. Read more about his visit here.

We are so grateful to the Wollongong community for supporting We Rock the Spectrum now and in the months to come. We look forward to seeing what Hellen and Shane have in store for the future of We Rock the Spectrum – Wollongong. Let’s ROCK!
