On October 19^th, We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym opened its doors in Brainerd Lakes, Minnesota. It was a very exciting weekend for the Brainerd Lakes team and community, with a ROCKIN’ turnout.

Anesha and Ben Martinka are the new owners of this new location. Together, they have a son, Onyx, who is on the spectrum. When they moved to central Minnesota, they realized there was no place for Onyx and other kids with special needs to have fun with their peers. When they learned about We Rock, they knew they had to be a part of our mission. They wanted to give back to the community and improve the quality of life for all similarly challenged families in the area.

Their passion has brought a vibrant and inclusive gym to the community with their goal of providing a safe space for children of ALL abilities to Play With A Purpose™. With a great grand opening under their belt, we are excited to see how the gym will grow in upcoming years!

At the grand opening, children and their families were treated to a variety of food and special needs resources from local businesses. Ben even dressed as a clown to provide entertainment for the kids while helping them check out all of We Rock’s sensory-safe equipment. It’s safe to say Brainerd Lakes really experienced the full effect of the We Rock way!
