We Rock the Spectrum welcomed its first gym in Nevada with the grand opening of We Rock the Spectrum – Las Vegas on June 17th, 2017. Samantha and Travis Wolf-Dillingham are the proud new owners of the sensory gym in Las Vegas. Having been a teacher at the Clark County School District for 18 years, Samantha’s world revolves around kids. In 2016, her and Travis’ son, Gage, was diagnosed with ASD (autism spectrum disorder). Although Samantha had worked with numerous students on the spectrum, being a parent was another journey. Travis and Samantha took Gage to parks and indoor playgrounds only to come home feeling frustrated and discouraged. It wasn’t until they attended a parent meeting, did they meet a mom who told them about We Rock. That unique moment inspired them to bring We Rock the Spectrum to the Las Vegas community.
The grand opening for We Rock the Spectrum – Las Vegas was a huge success! Friends and family showed their support along with Fox 5 and KTNV 13 who covered the event. Volunteers devoted their time and help, restaurants delivered yummy food, and businesses donated raffle prizes. Families from all over joined the We Rock community for food and entertainment.
Amidst the scorching heat, there is finally a place where both kids and parents can come to enjoy, relax, and have fun. This is a community where everyone can refrain from judgment and accept others for who they are – “Finally a place where you never have to say I’m sorry!” We are excited for what is in store for We Rock the Spectrum – Las Vegas and can’t wait to see what lies ahead!
