1. Please introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your gym.

My name is Eva Millard, I own We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym in Ballston Spa, NY. My gym is a judgement free place where All Children of All abilities can come and feel welcome and comfortable.

2. How did you first learn about We Rock the Spectrum?

We Rock the Spectrum found me and was calling to me for a long time. I initially saw a beautiful news piece of an amazing inclusive place where all children can learn, grow and have fun together in Buffalo, NY. The owner, Jessica Sills and her family were just amazing and I felt like their mission really resonated with me. I needed to know more about this amazing place and how I could be a part of it! I then began following our incredible Dina Kimmel and I just KNEW the We Rock family was for us and our community!

3. What is your professional background?

I am an Occupational Therapist, and I worked at a wonderful school for children diagnosed with developmental disabilities. It was there that this mission just continued to call me. After each and every annual meeting with families, one of the biggest things that families wished for was a place they could take their children where their needs could be met and where their children and their families could feel welcome and have fun together.

4. What are three words that describe you?

Giving, loving, enthusiastic.

5. What inspired you to open a We Rock the Spectrum gym?

First, I am a proud momma to my amazing daughter, Emilia, so I want her to grow up as a kind, giving and loving person! I want her to be proud of her mom and learn the importance of giving to our communities, welcoming everyone, and being kind and loving to all individuals. I was also inspired by all the families I worked with as an Occupational Therapist. They needed a place to feel welcome, a place where they never had to say, “I’m sorry”, a place where all of their children, with or without disabilities, could have their needs met and simply have fun!

6. How have you seen We Rock the Spectrum benefiting your community?

Our mission of inclusion is really touching my community and the love is spreading! We all want to see our children happy, playing and most importantly, feeling included!

7. What advice would you give someone who wanted to become a franchisee?

Jump in and do it! If your passion and enthusiasm are there and this mission connects with you….do it! We are here to love one another and give ourselves to one another.

8. How has being a part of the We Rock the Spectrum family impacted your life thus far?

I am a part of something truly incredible! I did not come into this with a business background, but I certainly have the passion and I thrive in learning more. I want to give to others and continue helping to build a loving, inclusive and welcoming community. I have an incredible support system with my We Rock family and believe in the power of our mission!
