Dina Kimmel with her children, Sophia and Gabriel — the inspiration behind We Rock the Spectrum’s inclusive mission.

“Finally a Place Where You Never Have to Say I’m Sorry.”®

At We Rock the Spectrum, our motto “Finally a place where you never have to say I’m sorry”® is more than just a catchy phrase on the wall. It reflects everything we stand for — a message built on empathy, lived experience, and a commitment to creating a space where every child, regardless of ability, is not only welcomed but celebrated.

For parents of children with autism, sensory processing disorders, or developmental delays, the world can often feel like a place full of apologies. Many parents find themselves repeatedly explaining or apologizing for their child’s behavior even when that behavior is simply a result of who their child is.

That’s where We Rock the Spectrum comes in. Our gyms are designed from the ground up to be inclusive, sensory-safe environments where no one has to say “I’m sorry.” From the equipment we use to the way we train our staff, every decision we make is centered around inclusion and support. We design our environments to be calming, engaging, and judgment-free. They’re places where children can explore freely, regulate safely, and connect meaningfully regardless of their abilities.

Where Our Motto Comes From

The phrase “Finally a place where you never have to say I’m sorry”® didn’t come from a marketing team or a branding agency — it came from the heart of our CEO and Founder, Dina Kimmel.

Before We Rock the Spectrum, Dina was a mother navigating the world with her son Gabriel, who is on the Autism spectrum. Like many parents of neurodivergent children, she found herself constantly apologizing for behaviors that others didn’t understand. Meltdowns in public. Stimming. Needing to leave events early. The stares. The judgment. The isolation. And always… apologies.

After one particularly difficult experience at a local play center where Gabriel was asked to leave Dina realized that what her son (and countless others) needed was not just access to play, but a space specifically designed for his needs. She envisioned a space where parents could feel proud and safe.

So she created it.

From that vision, We Rock the Spectrum was born. A sensory-safe gym where kids of all abilities could play, learn, and grow. A place where families could show up as they are, no explanations required. That powerful feeling of finally being understood became the foundation of our motto.

Why “Finally a Place Where You Never Have to Say I’m Sorry”® Means So Much To Families

For many families, We Rock the Spectrum is more than just a gym, it’s the first place they feel truly accepted. Parents often walk through our doors carrying years of stress, having felt judged or misunderstood in traditional public spaces. But here, the atmosphere is different. There’s no need to apologize, explain, or feel out of place. Instead, families are met with understanding, support, and joy.

Children experience the freedom to play how they need to, climbing, swinging, or just being themselves in a space designed for their needs. For some, it’s where they speak their first words or make their first friend. For others, it’s simply the first time they feel safe.

Siblings can join in, parents can breathe, and families finally feel like they’ve found a place where they all belong, together.

That’s the power of “Finally a place where you never have to say I’m sorry.”® It means inclusion, respect, and a community that sees your child for who they are and celebrates them.
